Title: Concealed Carry Basics for ALL Body Types
Description:
How do you conceal a gun on your body? Why do some holsters print (show through your clothes) more than others? Is your holster safe? How do you get good concealment on different body shapes?
This class is appropriate for all skill levels. It includes a lecture portion on the fundamental principles of concealment, and interactive demonstrations where students will work together to address common concealment and comfort challenges, applying the skills and techniques from the lecture.
A variety of equipment will be provided for demonstrations and practice exercises.
We will cover:
- Holster safety basics
- The physics principles of concealment
- How wings and wedges work
- How body type affects concealment

Attendance is both days with training in all three of our 3 hour blocks (live fire and presentations). We will be lending a hand in helping women in the firearms industry gain knowledge and meet MORE ladies in the biz. What a fantastic opportunity to be able to "pick the brains" of the ones that paved the path before us and meet ladies who offer NEW ideas. The relationships we build here can strengthen our business and help reach personal goals, PLUS the knowledge bombs received can be passed onto others.

** October 2023 - Active Shooter Instructor class with Ed Monk of Last Restor Firearms Training (16 hours)
This 2-day class is designed to help instructors teach Active Shooter Response to citizens, law enforcement, churches, schools, and businesses. Classroom training will show instructors (1) how to identify trends and lessons-learned from past attacks (2) discuss the skills, tactics, gear, and mindset needed for those who choose to go armed for this threat (3) how to design and manage training specifically for this threat. Range training will allow instructors to participate in live-fire drills & scenarios that train and assess skills critical to stopping this threat. Range training will include demonstration of how to run scenarios using both 3D and photo targets. Both days will have classroom & range time.

Being open-minded is generally considered a positive quality. It is a necessary ability in order to think critically and rationally. If you are not open to other ideas and perspectives, it is difficult to see all of the factors that contribute to problems or come up with effective solutions. The Mingle dedicates every event to all the ladies that come with an openness to experience.

Aq Qadir of Citizens Safety Academy: 3 hour live fire block
Aqil is the founder and lead instructor of CSA. His background as a firearms instructor started at age 12, teaching urban youth in his father’s gun club. He followed in his father’s footsteps, becoming an NRA Certified Instructor at the age of 22. He has been training civilians for over 30 years and training law enforcement for over 25. His passion is teaching regular people how to keep themselves and their families safe.
Lee Weems of First person Safety and That Weems Guy will be PRESENTING his BRAND NEW course called Tactical Civics. This is NON live fire and will be in the classroom.
- TACTICAL:
A tactical move that is carefully planned and often small in scale, but important in getting control of an area. Tactical comes from the Greek taktike techne meaning "art of arrangement." When something is tactical, it is artfully arranged, or planned.
CIVICS:
Civics is the study of the rights and obligations of citizens in society. The term derives from the Latin word civicus, meaning "relating to a citizen". The term relates to behavior affecting other citizens.
Lee says "this is the civics class you should have gotten in high-school."
